Melon Sorbet: Seasonal Light Dessert

A simple recipe for a light dessert that is perfect for a hot day

Melon sorbet is the perfect dessert for the summer heat, which is not only wonderfully refreshing, but also easy to prepare. It combines the delicate texture and bright taste of ripe melon with the light acidity of lemon, and rum adds a touch of piquancy.

Ingredients:

  • Melon 400 g
  • Sugar 60 g
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • White rum 20 ml
  • Fresh berries for decoration (optional)

Preparation of melon sorbet

Step 1

Clean the melon from the skin and seeds. Cut the flesh into large cubes.

Step 2

Transfer the melon into a blender. Add sugar, lemon juice and rum. Beat everything to a homogeneous mass.

Step 3

Pour the resulting mixture into a container and place in the freezer for 1.5 hours.

Step 4

After 1.5 hours, remove the container, mix the sorbet thoroughly with a fork, and then put it back in the freezer. Repeat this again after an hour. After it has completely hardened, take out the sorbet. To serve, shape it into balls with an ice cream scoop and garnish with fresh berries.
