Millet Porridge with Pumpkin in a Pot

This porridge is the perfect dish for an autumn morning

Cooked in a pot, it becomes incredibly tender and aromatic, and pumpkin adds sweetness and bright color.

Ingredients

  • Millet: glass (200 ml)
  • Milk: 500 ml
  • Butter: 30 g
  • Water: 3 glasses
  • Pumpkin: 500 g
  • Brown sugar: 3 tbsp. l.
  • Salt: a pinch

What to cook from pumpkin

Wash millet thoroughly in several waters. Pour two glasses of boiling water over it and leave for 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, peel the pumpkin and cut it into cubes. Put the pumpkin in a pot, add brown sugar, a pinch of salt and butter. Pour one glass of water. Cover and cook in the oven at 200°C or on the stove until the pumpkin is soft.

Mash the finished pumpkin into puree with a pestle.

Mix pumpkin puree with prepared millet, pour milk.

Cover the pot with a lid or foil and cook in the oven at 150°C for about an hour until the porridge is crumbly.
