Cranberry Pie Should Be Baked at Least Once in Winter – It Goes Perfectly with Tea When It’s Cold Outside.

Cranberry pie – ingredients:

Dough:

butter – 100 g

powdered sugar – 50 g

yolk – 2 pcs.

flour – 200 g

Cranberry pie filling:

protein – 2 pcs.

apple – 1 pc.

sugar – 100 g

Cranberries – 100 g

Preparation:

Step 1.

For a pie with cranberries or lingonberries, rub butter softened at room temperature with a fork with powdered sugar.

Carefully break the eggs and separate the whites from the yolks. Add the yolks to the butter, mix, sift the flour into the mixture and knead the dough with a fork.

Step 2.

Do not get carried away, you should not knead for too long, so that it does not become hard. Gather the dough for the meringue pie into a ball, and if it does not come together, add another spoonful of cold water.

Step 3.

Spread the dough with your hands in a form greased with oil and sprinkled with flour, form the edges. Put it in the refrigerator for a while while you prepare the filling.

Step 4.

Cut the apple for the cranberry pie into slices, wash and dry the berries.

Step 5.

Beat the egg whites with a mixer to good peaks, pour in the sugar and continue beating for another 3 minutes.

Step 6.

For the meringue pie, spread the egg whites over the dough, spread the washed and dried cranberries and apple slices on top. In this version, the meringue falls down and turns into a delicate, crispy substrate for the berries. If you want a more lush and soft meringue, then lay out the berries and apple first, and the meringue on top.

Put the cake in a hot oven for half an hour at 180 °C.

Step 7.

Meringue and cranberry pie is ready, delicious!
