Pike Perch Baked with Breadcrumbs in the Oven in 15 Minutes – an Unusual Way of Cooking from Polish Cuisine

“For fasting people, this is a precious fish: healthy, not bony, suitable for everything, not boring and cheap. In a word, it is lean beef.” Try to cook tender zander according to this recipe from Polish cuisine: simple, easy and very tasty. The horseradish sauce goes perfectly with the river fish, and the crispy crumb of croutons and fried onions will add texture and appetizingness!

Pike perch baked with breadcrumbs in the oven – ingredients:

frozen zander fillet – 600 g

1 medium bulb

wheat crackers – 40 g

green onion – a few feathers

melted or olive oil – for frying

sour cream for pike perch sauce in 15 minutes – 3 tbsp. spoons

classic horseradish – 1-2 tbsp. spoons

salt to taste

Preparation:

Step 1.

Defrost the pike perch fillet in the refrigerator in advance, wash and dry with napkins, place on an oiled baking sheet. Preheat the oven to 180 ℃.

Step 2. 

Crush the crackers into crumbs in a blender or mortar. Cut the onion into half rings and fry until golden, add breadcrumbs and mix, add salt to your taste. Put the resulting mixture on the zander fillet, bake for about 15 minutes.

Step 3. 

Cut the green onion into rings. Mix sour cream with horseradish, choosing the proportion to your taste, add salt if necessary. Sprinkle the tender zander with green onions and serve with horseradish sauce.
