Grape jam – ingredients:

Grapes – 2 kg

Sugar – 500 g

Preparation:

Step 1

Prepare the ingredients for grape jam – grapes and sugar. Wash the grapes thoroughly.

Step 2

Weigh the empty pan in which you plan to cook the jam.

Add the berries to the pan and weigh it again, calculate the weight of the grapes.

Step 3

Sprinkle the grapes with sugar at a ratio of 1:0.25 (250 g of sugar per 1 kg of grapes).

Step 4

If possible, leave the grapes with sugar for 2-3 hours to release the juice.

Step 5

Put the pan on the fire and cook on high heat after boiling for about 25-35 minutes. Grapes should be completely cooked and become soft.

Step 6

Wipe the grapes for jam through a sieve together with the resulting syrup.

Step 7

Cook the resulting liquid mass over high heat, stirring occasionally, until it reduces in volume by approximately 2 times (about 25-35 minutes).

The mass should become moderately thick. A drop of syrup should not spread on a horizontal surface.

Step 8

Prepare jars and sterilize them in any convenient way.

Step 9

Pour boiling grape jam into hot, sterilized jars, close tightly and leave to harden at room temperature.

After cooling, the jam will thicken. Approximately 900 ml of jam is obtained from 2 kg of grapes.
